T system safety nets EN ISO 1263 are steel consoles with nets mounted horizontally around the construction site edges to secure. They are mainly used to secure reinforcement works on the top floors, where a railing cannot yet be installed. It is an expensive safety system but is widely used in construction.
What are T system safety nets?
Safety nets are attached to metal consoles, which are next fixed to the concrete slab or façade located just under the highest working level of the site. T system safety nets are always installed where concrete has already gained sufficient strength. In this way, a “console” will protect employees from falling while working at the edges of buildings sites.
T-type safety nets stop a fall from height of up to 6 m. In this way, we can even secure 2 floors at the same time. However, we must remember that safety nets should always be placed as close as possible to the working level in order to minimize the length of the fall.
Legal basis - European standard EN ISO 1263
T system safety nets should meet all the requirements covered by the EN ISO 1263-1 European standard. Strength tests required in the above standard for this type of safety system are very demanding. Therefore, we recommend always buying T type safety nets certified by an independent notified body. In this way, we are sure that the system meets the requirements of the European standard.
T system safety nets from AITANA SAFETY have been certified according to the EN ISO 1263-1 European standard by AIDICO (Spanish Institute of Building Technology). Testing the T type safety nets involves dropping a steel ball 100 kg weight twice from 7 meters height.
Advantages of the T type safety nets with AITANA SAFETY
- they have been designed to withstand harsh conditions on the construction site for many years. Galvanized steel profiles and steel sheets from 6mm to 8mm thick are used.
- as the only company on the market, we offer T system safety nets certified by an independent body accredited by the European Union. Our T type safety nets have successfully passed all the strength tests in accordance with the EN ISO 1263-1 standard carried out at AIDICO (Spanish Institute of Building Technology). AIDICO is a body certified by the European Union and accredited to conduct test in the field of safety systems in construction industry – ENAC 25/C-PR226.
- our steel consoles are equipped with a 60mm mesh safety net. This is a much more reliable solution than the one used by other manufacturers of this kind of safety systems with a mesh size of 100 mm. Our nets are designed so that in the event of a fall, part of the energy is absorbed by the nets and part by the supporting structure.
- The system allows the console to be bent to facilitate cranes or other devices operations, as well as quick assembly and transfer to a higher floor.
Final conclusions
T system safety nets are a very effective solution to temporary protect against falls from height. It is a kind of steel console with nets mounted horizontally around the site construction edges for fall protection. Its use highly depend on the shape of the building. As in the case of the V type safety nets, they are mainly used to protect reinforcement works on the upper floors. Despite the fact that it is a very expensive safety system, they are widely used in the construction industry.
